A day in the life…
Quality Associate Beata Barcikowska has been working within the Eakin group for over 10 years. Her role is vitally important in upholding the high-quality standards that customers have come to expect from Pelican Feminine Healthcare.
“My morning usually starts with the inspection of new deliveries, of sterile or non-sterile product. This can lead on to the release of goods or the raising of a supplier non-conformance. The role also crosses into regulatory and quality assurance, including internal auditing, completion of product control plans and customer complaint form completion.”
“My career at Pelican Feminine Healthcare began in the cleanroom, where I gained first-hand experience in the importance of product quality.”
“In June 2016, I took the opportunity to further my career by applying for the Quality Associate role. Since my appointment as QA, I have learnt new skills in how a quality department works and I have learnt about many different medical devices, how they work and how important quality is. I have enjoyed becoming a key member of a team and how my actions can influence the team.”
Beata’s early knowledge of quality stems from her role as lab technician, testing water quality at a sewage treatment plant in Poland. Her first role in Cardiff was as a Production Operator, her first step into the manufacturing environment. Beata then made the decision to join Pelican Healthcare.
“In the local community in Cardiff, Pelican had a good name and a few of my close friends worked here. I decided it would be a good fit for me.”
“The role is very diverse; each day is rarely the same.”
