Did you know, that for every box of PELIspec Vaginal Speculum that you buy, you are helping to prevent cervical cancer, and support women affected by it?
Five pence from the sale of every box is donated the UK’s only dedicated cervical cancer charity, Jo’s Trust. As a Pelican Feminine Healthcare customer, you have helped us raise an incredible £72,778.30, which was presented to Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust CEO Robert Music when their nationwide roadshow visited Cardiff last week.
Pelican Feminine Healthcare Managing Director Richard Carter, visited the roadshow to hear about the amazing work the Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust team and volunteers have been carrying out on their four-month long journey starting in Glasgow in March and finishing in Knowsley. The staff and volunteers have been on hand in city centres and supermarkets to answer all things cervical cancer, HPV, cervical screening and more. The state-of-the-art roadshow van features a private area where women can contact the Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust Helpline, and is fully loaded with literature and information for women with questions or concerns.
Richard said: “The Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust Roadshow is a great initiative and I was delighted to be able to visit them in Cardiff. We value the strong partnership we have with Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and of course are thrilled to have raised over £72,000 to support their very valuable work. However, the crucial focus of our collaboration is raising awareness, and supporting their mission to make cervical cancer a disease of the past.”
Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust CEO Robert Music added: “We’re incredibly grateful to Pelican for their continued support over the past 7 years. They have raised over £70,000 for the charity, a quite staggering amount, which has been instrumental in helping us expand our reach and ensure more women can access our support at the time when they need it the most. Increasing uptake of cervical screening is a core part of our work at Jo’s and the donation from Pelican has helped us improve awareness of the test among women of all ages, which may ultimately result in lives saved. I look forward to a continued partnership with Pelican and want to thank them again for their extremely generous support of Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust.”
In addition to the donation from sales of the PELIspec, the Pelican Feminine Healthcare team continue fundraise throughout the year. This year, five members of the team will be taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon on 1st October.
